Discovering local musicians in Cambridgeshire can begin with the places that already host live music. Browse venue programmes, support-act announcements and community event listings. A name you do not recognise may be a reason to listen rather than a reason to scroll past.
Make a short listening list
Choose two or three artists from a local line-up and look for their official websites or channels. Listen before deciding what suits your taste. A studio song and a live video can offer complementary introductions, particularly when an artist performs original material.
Follow the artists you want to hear again
Keep their own website links so you can return for music and confirmed announcements. Mayia Steadman is a pop singer-songwriter from Cambridgeshire, with recordings on Spotify and performance videos on YouTube. Her site offers a starting point for listeners exploring the area's original music, and for organisers interested in making an enquiry.
Explore Mayia’s performances and covers on YouTube or read My Story to get to know the artist behind the music.
